Peace at the Playground

Today our family made it down to North East, Maryland. It’s a spot we frequent now that the kids are old enough to endure a full day on the water.

Water break for my mop-top buddy.

Today it was hot and a strong breeze made for rougher waters. But North East, even after all these years, continues to harbor little surprises for us.

We found a bit of dock space where Hubs could drop us off on land. A playground overlooking the bay sat pleasantly in the shade, beckoning. Wet bathing suits made us thankfully cooler and a break from the water was welcomed by all.

Hubs got to fish the canal. The kids got to “run their sillies out,” as I call it. I got to read on a metal bench while a few leaves fell from overhead.

And I found peace. Ever since the start of my peace journey, peace is all around. It simply needs to be observed. Recognized. Seized. Most of the time, peace is found in a transition: making the choice to switch up our activity and try something new. Today we found peace at the playground and I was forever grateful.

What brought you peace this week? Share the peace.
