Since opening The Studio in 2022, our workshops have offered women a space to be themselves, to share, learn, and grow. This November, we’re trying something new in the space.
In the spirit of growth and learning, I’m excited to offer two writing circles this month, both set to take place on Thursday mornings.
If you’re new to writing, you should come.
If you’ve been writing your entire life, you should come.
If you’re not really sure about writing, but something has drawn you to the idea that maybe, perhaps, it’s possible you would like to write, you should come.
I’ll do my thing and offer coffee, tea, water, and cookies. We need sustenance! Writing is no joke! It’s hard work and it requires time, patience, love, and attention.
But some may be wondering: what is a writing circle?
Since writing can be such a solitary practice, a writing circle offers a safe space to explore the craft of writing and share what we’re working on. These November Writing Circles will include some of the following:
- An introduction to best writing practices
- A discussion of critique versus commentary
- Writing prompts
- Quiet writing time
- Read around (for those interested to share their work aloud)
It is not rare that giving voice to our writing empowers it. Sometimes, we need to write the words, then speak them into a space. This grounds our intentions, solidifies our thoughts, and brings strength to our integrity in the writing practice.
I have longed for a writing circle and if you have too, The Studio is the place for you. I can’t wait to write with you.
Please note that these circles are free to attend. However, let me know of your intention to come so I can organize the layout in the space accordingly.
Namaste Every Day! See you in The Studio!
