I’m starting to see this challenge as sustainable only because I know it’s temporary. That means that after I’ve gotten through the initial 90 days, I’m going to need a plan if I really want to make a change in our lives.
Right now, we are approaching the end of the month, which means we’ll be able to look at the budget and our expenses. We will be able to see a real, visible difference in our spending.
But what does it all mean?
I need a reason to keep this up. I definitely feel like being more mindful and authentic about paying for the things I actually want or need is a great incentive to continue.
But another part of me has wondered if I need something for our money to go to instead of the random spending we’ve gotten used to.

Here are a few options:
1.) Expand on our savings
2.) Plan a trip for the family (or maybe a getaway for me and Hubs)
3.) Make plans to renovate something in our house (kitchen or bathroom?)
4.) Plan a yoga retreat
5.) Buy a new car
For now, none of these things feel very authentic to me. This means I don’t actually want or need them. But, perhaps the benefit of the challenge is simply that I’m creating space. Maybe the need will arise with some more time and consideration. In the meantime, we’ll keep saving and see what shakes out.
